The Jonker Frans War took place between 1488 and 1490 and was the last resurgence of the Hook and Cod Wars. A Hook minority pushed through to Rotterdam early November 1488, from where they attempted to win cities and villages for the Hook cause. This group was led by Frans van Brederode (hence the epynomous war), a nobleman and descendant from an illustrious noble family.
