French translation of the Second Dutch edition (1797-1798) of the travels of Johan Splinter Stavorinus (1739-1788) , first published in Leiden in 1793 under the title " Reize of Zeeland at the Cape of Good Hope to Batavia, Bantam -1771 ... " . Until page 157, the journey is a personal description( departure from Zeeland. P. 159-271 is on trading in Java , p 273-382 . on the Bengals , the last part of the book is on Kaap de Goede Hoop.
