The wonderful plates were originally made for Benoit's "Voyage à Surinam" (Brussels, 1839). Contains splendid panoramas of Braamspunt, the forts Leiden and Amsterdam, plantation Jagtlust, Paramaribo, etc. and various plates of plants, native people, and of course slaves.
