Interesting and rare list (editions exist from 1748, 1766, 1767 and 1774) of horribly punished criminals, with those convicted of sodomy being particularly striking. One example can be found on page 33-34. Pieter Martin ("Beunhaas Makelaar", age 30) and Johannes Keep ("Bloem vercierder", age 50), "welke beiden aan de verfoeyelyke Sonden van Sodomie zyn overtuigd schuldig te wezen, waar over zy beyden gewurgt en geblaakert, en vervolgens de Ligchamen met 100 ponden gewigt yder aan de beenen, in 't Y zyn geworpen." Willem Kriekelandt and Pieter Diedel (p. 42), too, were thrown in the river Y for their sodomy.
Furthermore, the breaking on the wheel and decapitation of chirurgeon Hidde Grettinga (p. 9), with emotional letters to his children included in this publication, is remarkable, as are several executions of boys no older than 14 or 15 and the large number of offenders aged only 17 or 18.
