Calligraphed manuscript by monogrammist "N.V." on recto of 8 cord-bound parchment leafs, Antwerp, 1900, with richly decorated title monogrammed "F.T. del." and 1 other illustration in the text by the same, with 66 signatures at the end, 41.5 x 30.5 cm., loose in rich gilt morocco folder with exuberant decoration in deep relief, signed "J. Mössly", large folio.
Parchment leafs with small burn mark in lower corner, folder bumped on edges.
Exciting tribute album presented to the first Antwerp city engineer and Chef Directeur of the Municipal Works of Antwerp, Gustave Royers (1848-1923), by his staff. He was involved in all great urban works and stood at the helm of seven city services: harbour works, mechanical equipment and exploitation, roads and city expansion, municipal plantation, municipal buildings, municipal properties and health services. The exuberant, museological festive binding by Jaak Mössly (1853-1921) bears the city arms of Antwerp in leather in various colours on the front and text in gold: "À monsieur G.A. Royers".
