Bookblock foxed, mainly at the beginning and end; cover partly tanned and top hinge torn. One of 30 copies not commercially released, this copy (number 11) with words "IJzer in fluweel" followed by the author's monogram "RB" in pen on the half title. Also in pen the owner's name "Mies Willink" [-van der Meulen], dated 1- '28, for a short period she was the wife of Carel Willink, who drew the frontispiece.
