Weekly French newspaper, bundled in half leather red bindings with ribbed back, title and ornamental decoration in gold blindstamp on spine. Circa 450 pp. per binding. Marbled endpapers. 40 x 29 cm. Spine, edges and corners somewhat scratched, inside with foxing but neat. A few pages scratched. L'Illustration was the first French paper to print a photo, and later also the first with a colour photo (1907, in this collection).
