Antwerp, weduwe J. Cnobbaert, 1649, 151 p., contemporary vellum with two ivory or bone bead-and-loop locks, with old shelf marks and title in ink on spine, 8vo (11.2 x 5.7 cm.).
Several leaves are misbound, the original owner has indicated in places in pen how to continue reading.
Extremely rare pocket publication, no other copies found! On the title page a contemporary owner's inscription by a "Carmelitersse" and on reverse of title an old owner's inscription: "Maria, Carmeliterssen te Boxmeer, Elzendaal". Besides the rarity and interesting provenance, the binding itself, even in its simplicity, worth mentioning. It is a very fine example of a pocket book cherished at the time and now virtually untraceable.
