Henry Miller (1891-1980). Manuscript letter in pen to "Dear mr. Braakenburg",
dated "Big Sur 7/11/55" and signed "Sincerely, Henry Miller", on recto of 1 sheet of 28 x 21.3 cm. (partly sunned, with perforation holes in left-hand margin, with folds).
"I enclose a fairly complete (new) bibliography [see below] for you. A few titles are still missing - no time to correct now." Miller then lists a few missing titles: "Into the Night Life", "the new edition of my "Rimbaud" coming out this fall (...) under the title "The time of the assasssins" and several other titles. He continues: "But you have the most of what's published. The whole Bibliogr. will be in the appendix to Alfred Perlès' "My Friend, Henry Miller" (Spearman, London - this fall)."
With: the ORIGINAL BIBLIOGRAPHY of the works of Henry Miller mentioned in the letter, on 9 typed, numbered sheets (same small defects as the letter). The chronological bibliography lists all editions published up to that point and is divided into 7 chapters: "Books", 19 items, beginning with Tropic of Cancer from 1934 and finishing with Plexus from 1952; "Brochures and Pamphlets", 12 items, beginning with "What Are You Going to do about Alf?" from 1935 and finishing with "The Waters Reglitterized" from 1950; "Miscellaneous Special Items", 5 titles; "Books and brochures about Henry Miller", 4 items; "Prefaces to other author's books", 14 items; "A Few Books in which there are Essays about Henry Miller", 6 items; "Two books with essays by Henry Miller".
Extraordinary combination of letter and original bibliography by Henry Miller himself.
