Antwerp, Officina Plantiniana, 1629, (8),129,(2) p., with fine engraved title by Cornelis Galle, 13 engraved maps and plans (7 double-page outside collation, 6 full pages within collation) and another 2 smaller engraved illustrations, contemporary overlapping vellum, folio.

Several small defects (e.g. vellum slightly stained). A very good copy with relatively wide margins. The first edition of this work on Spinola's siege of Breda appeared in 1626. Jesuit Herman Hugo (1588-1629) is mainly known for his oft-reprinted and translated emblem book Pia Desideria (first edition 1624).
