Zhang Zeduan (1085-1145). Along the River During the Qingming Festival
Facsimile in undetermined technique on yellow-brown silk of the original painting, 27 x 415 cm., presumably ca. 1900, with red character stamps at beginning and end and with explanatory text at the beginning, top and at the end of the image, affixed to paper holder, folded as leporello between originally silk-clad boards with remains of paper title label, 28 x 22 cm.
Here and there foxed or stained; somewhat shabbily affixed to holder with subsequent creases. Silk on boards trifle worn.
Near-life size facsimile of the most famous artwork from the Song dynasty. See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Along_the_River_During_the_Qingming_Festival.
