ca. 19th/early 20th century, each with corporal punishment or jurisdiction, each ca. 23 x 34 cm. (incl. blue silk framing), contemporary red silk binding with ties, oblong folio.

The gouaches in very good condition, the silk across the boards trifle damaged/tender. Beautiful large plates with distinctive bright colours. Subjects: condemned before a court, cuffed prisoners being removed, various corporal punishments incl. a beating with a board, prisoners chained to a block, a barrel, a basket and tied to a bench, and finally a decapitation scene. Several scenes with a high-ranking official in folding chair and/or a writer.
