[Genealogy and heraldry] "Généalogie de la très ancienne et noble Famille de Faesch,

originaire de la Ville de Basle en Suisse." Calligraphed manuscript genealogical tree on vellum, (8) p., signed in pen by Charles-Jean Beydaels de Zittaert and François-Joseph de Leenheer, "Fait a Vienne, le 11 o.bre 1806", with large gouache coat of arms on the first page and 27 smaller coats of arms in the tree, with 3 wax and paper seals, threadbound velllum wrappers, 39.5 x 30.5 cm.

Vellum curled at outer edge, else very fine. Very attractive and colourful manuscript. The tree starts with Jean-Rodolphe Faesch and the date 1491 and ends with Marie Valerie Faisch, born in 1804. Charles-Jean Beydaels de Zittaert (1747-1811), was "eerste wapenkoning" of the Austrian Netherlands and the "Bourgondische Kreits" as well as head of the "Chambre Héraldique". We could not find information on Francois-Joseph de Leenheer. The text on the first page ends with the name "A. Glaser", perhaps the name of the calligrapher.
