Here and there slightly tanned/foxed (esp. the plates and due to the leather at beginning and end); spine ends worn; part 6 with torn hinge. Fine set with 19th-century owner's stamp "S. Duvaucel" on the free endpaper of all parts. This may be Sophie Duvaucel (1789-1867), mostly known for her correspondence with Stendhal and as stepdaughter of Cuvier. Contains abridged texts by Moore, Pope, Milton, Dryden, Cowper, Swift and others.
