Rigaud, 1653, 2 volumes, (8),960,(36); (120),758,(18) p., with engraved title illustrations and more than 2700 woodcuts (some with antique hand-colouring), contemporary uniform sheepskin with gilt back, raised bands, folio.

A complete set, unfortunately with volume 1 from around p. 600 affected by damp, increasingly so towards the end with damage and mold in top and bottom corners (the back cover, too, only in the index with loss to text); bookblock volume 2 in good condition, both volumes with contemporary borders in pen on all pages, bindings rubbed/damaged. Copy deserving of restoration, sold w.a.f. The second, most extensive French edition (the first French edition appeared in 1615). The first Latin edition appeared in 1586-1587.
