Jan Mammen (1899-1978). Lot with ca. 20 pieces of advertisement art,
consisting mainly of woodcut supplements in various sizes of issues of Geïllustreerd Slagersvakblad (1924-1925, several complete issues included) and Geïllustreerd Schildersblad (1923-1928, incl. large folding plates) but also including several original designs.
Contains e.g. the 1925 Christmas issue of Geïllustreerd Slagersvakblad, with besides the printed illustrations by Mammen also an accompanying design in pen and ink (Pig's head) and several proofs for illustrations. Also an original design of the proof of membership of Vereeniging van Vaderland en Oranje, a printed, not filled-out copy of a R.K. Landbouwschool Voorhout diploma, a design for the cover of the magazine Knoppen. Schoolblad van het R.K. Lyceum voor Meisjes Amsterdam, a large design in gouache for a carpet (59 x 37 cm., signed) and "Diploma toegekend aan den Heer J. Mammen als lid van de Jury der Prijsvraag "Reclameschild of Lichtreclame", uitgeschreven door het geïllustreerd Schildersblad" (1924).
