[Magic lantern slides] Collection of ca. 300 glass slides,

ca. 4 x 15 to ca. 9.5 x 28 cm., all but a few coloured and all with ca. 4 scenes, including many fine series, kept in 14 (original) boxes.

Large, colourful collection with many caricatural series, partly handpainted, incl. a series of 18 views on 6 slides with buildings of the Exposition Universelle 1878 and (in the same box) a series of 24 lovely caricatural human figures also on 6 slides; a special series of 12 photos of zeppelins on 3 slides and a similar series with photos of 12 ships on 3 slides (both series marked "G.B.-N."); 6 series of fairy tales, each 8 scenes on 2 slides (therefore 12 slides altogether) incl. Tom Thumb, Hansel and Gretel, Little Red Riding Hood and Cinderella; a series of 13 slides and a series of 8 slides with each 4 scenes with various subjects, both series marked "E.P.", in two original wooden boxes with sliding lid with label of the same producer "E.P." (incomplete series); a series of 24 portraits of famous men (incl. American presidents) on 6 slides; an early series of 19 relatively early, handpainted slides with various subjects, ca. 1850, in the original box (a few broken, several with slightly worn decoration (total ca. 300 oblong slides).
