[J.R.R. Tolkien. First edition with dust jacket] Farmer Giles of Ham.
(...). The Rise and Wonderful Adventures of Farmer Giles, Lord of Tame, Count of Worminghall and King of the Little Kingdom. By J.R.R. Tolkien. Embellished by Pauline Diana Bayes. London, G. Allen and Unwin, 1949, 1st edition, 78,(2) p., with coloured frontispiece and one other plate and many b/w illustrations and vignettes, original decorated orange cardboard (faux cloth) with dust jacket.
Very good copy, binding and dust jacket (blurb in blue with price "6s. net") with minimal traces of use, dust jackets lacks several millimetres on spine ends and on fold ends, a slightly larger piece came loose but has been preserved. Name "J. Pastor" in pen on endpaper. Lovely copy of the first edition.
