[Sea heroes.
[Lambert v.d. Bosch]. Amsterdam, J. ten Hoorn & J. Bouman, 1683, (16),784,(7) p., with etched frontispiece by Romeyn de Hooghe, 6 double-page engraved plates (incl. a sea chart, 1x also folding), another 12 plates and 9 portraits by Jan Luiken and others, contemporary vellum, small 4to.
Copy trimmed slightly short, with minimal loss to frontispiece and printed text of the title page; here and there with repairs/ reinforcements in margins/ corners. A good copy of the second edition of this classic in this field. Compared to the first edition (1676), our edition omits the part on foreign admirals, while the Dutch explorations receive more attention. Also of considerable important to the history of American (Muller America, p. 18).
