[Book illustrations] Collection of nearly 300 book illustrations/ plates from books,

various media and sizes, ca. 1500-1850, modernly organised in 4 cardboard albums with title labels or inserted in cardboard wrapper/ 2 binders.

Highly diverse collection, part of the illustrations on the complete text leaf. Most eye-catching is the folio-sized cardboard album titled "Losse bladen uit antieke gedrukte boeken met houtsneden of kopergravures" due to the late-medieval origins of many leaves and the many sizable woodcuts (incl. several series from the same book). A smaller cardboard album contains 29 beautifully engraved illustrations from a 17th-century oblong 8vo print bible (with text in Latin, German and French on reverse). The loose cardboard wrapper contains approx. 60 folio text leaves with engraved illustrations from H.F. van Heussen, Batavia sacra, of kerkelijke historie en oudheden van Batavia (1725, with fine portraits of Vosmeer, Rovenius, Potcamp, Codde, De la Torre and Van Neercassel). One of the binders contains more than 30 plates from History of arts & sciences of the ancients (ca. 1750) (total nearly 300 prints).
