Leather, 4to, title on spine in red and gilt stamping, boards with typographical embroidery in gilt stamping, marbled endpapers, five titles with vignette in Dutch, English, French and Latin, (6) pp., complete with 78 handcoloured full-page copper engravings, each facing a text page with explanation in five languages. First edition. Spine and binding somewhat rubbed; else a very good copy.

Originally published in fascicles of 6 plates each. This is the first edition with 78 plates. In 1791 another edition appeared with a new title and 100 plates + a supplement with 6 plates.
