Four maps loose but in very good condition, several other leaves tender/ loose but else only minimal internal defects. Pastedowns worn/ damaged, as is the leather on spine ends and corners/ edges of boards. Still an acceptable copy of a fine Statenbijbel edition. With interesting 18th-century genealogy of the wealthy Muller-Witt family, drafted in pen by various successive family members on the flyleaves, each time with indicated death of the previous owner. Family members include an "Extraordinaris Raad van Neerlands Indien", "Raad van Justities de Cassteels Batavia", mayor of Simmeren or principal at Dokkum. Last annotation: "Den 7 december 1782 is onze Moeder Wytske Bock weduwe J.H. Muller, nae veel smarten geleden te hebben aan de kanker in het Borst, in den ouderdom van 60 jaaren overleeden, na latende een moeder van 80 jaren en 2 soons. God verlene haar een vroolijke opstanding." With approbation in pen by Pieter van Dieningen on the reverse of the title, world map with address of all three publishers of this bible edition.
