Terug: Zaterdag 24 Mei 1930 in Genua, al of niet met aansluiting aan den mailtrein naar Holland". Manuscript travel account in diary format, (32) leaves written on both sides and a large number of blank leaves (fine handmade "Falcon MDLVI" paper, with loose inlaid manuscript card with the text for 14 March in rough draft, 2 newspaper clippings bound along, 4 loose inserted early watercolours (2x signed G. Folkertsma [= Geert Folkertsma (1847-1912)], bound in fine full leather by Pfannstiel (Weimar) with gilt coat of arms inlaid with red, black and silver leather on front board, 25 x 19.5 cm.

With on the leaf before the title page a newspaper clipping in pencil dated 10 December 1930, in which bankruptcies are announced, the Instituut voor Wetenschappelijke en andere Selecte Reizen included. Lovely and detailed day-by-day travel account, drafted by an unidentified travel companion (possibly identifiable through the arms on the front board), with the following participants ("behalve de leider en steller dezer"): jonkvrouwen J.S.B.A. Baronesse van Ittersum and A. van Reigersberg Versluys, mejuffrouwen J.G. Groenman, G. Reeling Brouwer and G.B. van Buttingha Wichers, heer and mevrouw Zuberbühler van Waveren, heer Dr. K.S. de Graag and heer Dr. Jellinghaus (G.M.W.) passed away on 27/9 '30. This travel account deserves to be published. The refined watercolours by Folkertsma, each 13.5 x 15 cm., were added later. Mounted on holders with titles: "De Gedeh te Buitenzorg", "Emmahaven", "De Reede van Padang" en "Tandjong Priok bij Batavia". According to the RKD, Folkertsma was located at Batavia from 1875 to 1886.
