[Christoph von Schmid] Lot with 17 (rare) editions,

all Dutch translations after German works by C. Schmid, all published at Amsterdam by Ten Brink en de Vries, 1829-1877, mostly with engraved plates, original printed cardboard (15x), original wrapper (1x) and contemporary cardboard, small 8vo.

Spines/ boards partly browned, several spines with other defects. Johann Nepomuk Christoph Friedrich von Schmid (1768-1854) was the most successful writer of children's books of his day. Lovely and special collection, contains: (1-2) Het Huzarenkind (...), 1st and 2nd edition, 1833 and 1837, the former with silk ties and school prize of P. Vis's Leidse instituut; (3-4) Het verloren kind en de kapel in het bosch (...), 1st and 4th edition, 1829 and 1848; (5-6) De Hoppebloesems (...), 1ste and 2nd edition, 1834 and 1840; (7-8) De Kers-avond (...), 3rd and 4th edition, 1837 and 1842, the latter with handwritten school prize; (9-10) Zeven nieuwe verhalen (...), 2nd and 3rd edition, 1837 and 1842, the latter with Amsterdam school prize; (11) De Kanarie, de glimworm, het duifje en het lam.
