Occ. soiled/ staining/ browning, erased stamp on title and old owner's name on final page, several other defects. Front cover with endpaper and title page loose. Despite the defects a desirable book due to its rarity and the beautifully handcoloured plates; (2) Vertellingen, gesprekken en brieven voor kinderen, door C.G. Salzmann. Uit het Hoogduitsch. Amsterdam, J. van der Hey, 1813-1815, two parts in one volume, VII,(1),190; (4),184 p., with 6 handcoloured, engraved plates by J.E. Marcus, contemporary halfcalf, gilt back with morocco letterpiece, small 8vo. Partly waterstained, else a very good copy. With lovely letterpress prize, filled out by hand for Hel. Dor. Herding by "Dienaren der Vereenigde Doopsgezinde Gemeente" (dated 1819). (total 2)
