De Stijl. Maandblad voor nieuwe kunst, wetenschap en kultuur.

Ed. by Theo van Doesburg. 4th year. Leiden, (De Stijl), January - December 1921, 12 parts with consecutive paging in one vol., 188 p. numbered in 2 columns (except no. 11, the "X-beelden (1920)"-number), with 20 pasted plates after Survage, Mondriaan, Fiozzi, Archipenko, Crotti, Van Doesburg, Feyninger, Hellesen, Huszár, Léger and others, also 4 plates with illustrations by Viking Eggeling and Hans Richter, original yellow halfcloth with printed front board, oblong 4to.

Somewhat browned/ foxed (incl. boards). No wrappers bound along, but almost certainly due to the publisher; the cover design now adorns the binding. Still with the vertical middle fold through all issues due to mailing of loose issues. Ex collection Antony Kok, one of the founders of the periodical, with his bookplate designed by Theo van Doesburg to the flyleaf, numbered "1149" in pencil on the first title page. Ex collection Jan van Riel (1907-1988). Very rare complete year in the original binding. Contains on p. 160 (in no. 10) the poem "Stilte + stem (vers in w)" by Antony Kok and on p. 103-106 (in no. 7) the typographic poem "Letterklankbeelden" by I.K. Bonset [= Theo van Doesburg].
