Ann. on endpapers in pencil, various owner's names in ink on endpapers and frontispiece, first 20 pp. with small worm hole. Copper engravings in very good condition. Diego de Saavedra Fajardo was a Spanish diplomat and writer. This work was first published in 1640 and was inspired by the Emblemata politica (1618) by Jakob Bruck Angermunt. It was intended as a sort of political guide.
