Occ. mild browning/ foxing, vellum with a few small stains and ties worn, yet an attractive copy on large paper. The second printing of the standard biography of Michiel de Ruyter (first printing: 1687), illustrated with his naval battles engraved by Daniel Stoopendaal, the funeral procession in Amsterdam after his death and his tomb. A third printing already appeared in 1701, after which several other editions would follow.
