Those leaves not paginated in print have been provided with neat old handnumbering; leather across hinges fragile/ sl. torn in. Finely bound copy of this handbook on various aspects (incl. gardening, tulips, hunting and falconry) of outdoor life, with 2 bookplates to the inside of the front board: (1) the bookplate of the famous music historian Daniel François Scheurleer (1855-1927), with his initials DFS and motto "In labore requies". His library (excl. the music books) was sold at auction in 1927, by Van Stockum; (2) bookplate with intertwined initials GL (or CL) and motto "Super omnia Gandia (or Candia) Venatio" (the last part concerns hunting). Page 259 is an intertitle: Le floriste François, traitant de l'origine des tulipes. De l'ordre qu'on doit observer pour les cultiver & planter (...). Avec un catalogue des noms des tulipes (dated 1673). Page 393 is also an intertitle: Traité des chasses, de la venerie; et fauconnerie (...).
