Five items: (1) Book 2236 from the library of Dachau concentration camp

Lüttich-Namur. Unter Benutzung amtlicher Quellen bearbeitet von Marschall v. Bieberstein (...). Oldenburg, G. Staling, 1918, 96 p., with 2 (of 3 or 4) folding plates, halfcloth, covered with plain brown paper, 22.5 x 16 cm.

Ex library copy (Dachau camp library) with defects. Der grosse Krieg in Einzeldarstellungen (...) Heft 1. Extraordinary copy: letterpress label mounted to endpaper with the text "Bücherei des Konzentrationzlagers Dachau. Lagerbefehl", incl. 8 rules for lending, such as lending for only one week, one book at a time, treating the book well, pay damages, handing in at the "Lager-Bücher-Lokal" "in den Bibliothekstunden von 12-2". On the other side of the endpaper a strip is mounted with header "Kontr. Zett:" incl. one issue stamped "27 März 1943" and in pen "In Ordnung" followed by initials. On the title page the book number I 2236 is written in pen. On the cover the same number has been stamped as well as date stamp "27 März 1943" (2x). With 4 other related items: (2) a copy of the second printing of Het Achterhuis in modern binding; (3-4) two clandestine rhyming prints printed in limited edition by underground printer D.A.V.I.D. for De Bezige Bij; (5) a modern file with newspaper clippings from shortly after the war inserted into sheets, on the horrors of the concentration camps.
