Lot with more than 50 views in various media
incl. 42 tinted lithographs mostly after W. Hekking from Amsterdam in Schetsen by P.H. Witkamp (1861), also incl. 2 steel engravings from Terwen and a fine view by Willem Writs from Het Verheerlijkt Nederland (1770), all but 5 larger sizes inserted in modern binder.
Tinted lithographs include views of Oude Schans, Plantage, Houtgracht, Binnen-Amstel (several), Prinsengracht (ice-skating print), Herengracht, Keizersgracht (several, incl. an ice-skating print), the Paleis voor Volksvlijt, Kloveniersburgwal, Singel, Nieuwmarkt, Rokin, Dam, Nieuwe Zijds Voorburgwal and Haarlemmerdijk. The view by Writs shows the Halvemaansbrug with the St. Anthonis Waag and Kloveniersdoelen. The larger sizes include an uncoloured copy and a coloured copy of a lithographed view of the Station der Haarlemmer Spoorweg after C. Springer. Finally an etching by Jan Poortenaar of the Waag, issued by De Bijenkorf on the occasion of the Boekenweek 1939 (rare early Boekenweek item). (total 50+)
