The woman is Tinnie van der Elzen (1911-1999), the first wife of Eppo Doeve. In the background a depiction of Kasteel Cannenburgh at Vaassen. The brooch she is wearing is a silver medallion of the Nederlandsche Studentenbonden. The original brooch has been added with the painting. Painting exhibited during Eppo Doeve.
