Bestaande, in een verhandelinge, van de waaren en koopmanschappen die men daar heenen sendt en wederom ontfangt: benevens vergelykingen der munten, maaten en gewigten (...). Als mede: Een verhandelinge over de wisselbank, beurs en Koorenbeurs (...). Nu doorgaans in een andere ordre gebracht, ook van nieuws veel vermeerderten verbetert, door Isaac le Long. De vyfde druk. Amst., heirs J. Ratelband, 1743, 2 vols., (16),832,(16); (4),760,(16) pp., w. engr. frontisp. and 3 large fold. letterpress tables, contemp. unif. polished calf, gilt and ribbed spine w. mor. letterpiece.

Two tables w. sm. tear, the "Agio-tafel" w. large tear and bound not according to the binder's index (in vol. 2); 2 tables protruding from bookblock and sl. frayed/ dustsoiled there. The binder numbered the first vol. "II deel" and the second vol. "I. deel" on the spines. In all, a very good copy. Dutch translation of "Le negoce d'Amsterdam", originally published in 1694 and frequently reprinted. The work provides us with a great insight in the commercial aspects of Amsterdam, such as the financial systems, the V.O.C., whaling, the slave-trade etc.
