*Apollon was the stage name of Louis Uni (1862-1928) born in southern France to a family of well-known giants. He joined a nearby circus as a strongman at the age of 14. He became famous for his grip strength and for lifting 2 railroad car wheels connected by an axel, called Apollon's Wheels, weighing 166 kg.
