A very fine, desirable copy with just some minimal defects/ signs of age, with the "quatrains de l'honneste Amour, sur le devoir des mariez" at the end. With etched bookplate of "AK" and with sm. bookplate of the antiquarian bookseller Günther Leisten (Cologne) on upper pastedown. Furthermore, from the collection of Guglielmo Libri. His library was sold at auction in August 1859, in the auction catalogue this book is listed as number 2216 (described as being bound by Bedford). The binder Francis Bedford (1799-1883) of London can be considered to be one of the great binders of his age. Tchemerizine VII, 96 c. Gay/ Lemonnyer III, 913; Grisebach 672.
