Allegorical, finely contemp. handcol. lithogr., 33 x 36 cm, signed "Hk. Vettewinkel Dzn. inv & del." in lower right corner mounted at upper margin.

Very rare, col. print, w. ticket of the collector G. Koning Jr. on mount. Added: (2) Contemp. drawing in brown and grey ink, grey wash, w. exactly the same image and size and in the same direction, mounted. (3) (Attributed to) Andries Schoemaker (1660-1735). "Gesigt op het Karthuysers Kerkhof". "Gesigt van het selve teegen de herberg de groote Karthuisers." Two grisaille drawings, both 15 x 19.5 cm, w. title, date "1710" and framing lines in brown ink, mounted at upper margins. W. ticket of the collector G. Koning Jr. on mount. Both w. faded collector's stamp of the important Dutch collector Jacobus Willem Wurfbain (1816-1888) verso (Lugt 1556). On the same large mount: old auction catalogue clipping of the 2 drawings, attributing them to Schoemaker, and 2 engr. w. almost identical (but sl. smaller) views of the Karthuiser graveyard in the same direction. The catalogue clipping might be from one of the Frederik Muller auction catalogues of Wurfbain's rich collection, held in 1899 and in 1912. (total 6 on 3 lvs.)
