[Holland-Amerika Lijn. Indonesia] Archive of Henri Theodoor Bonefaas (1907-97)

Approx. 300 var. items, incl. many printed booklets, menu cards, flyers and other advertorial ephemera of the Holland-Amerika Lijn, related personal material and the typescript administration of the Bonefaas Textielbedrijf at Noordwijk 42 in Batavia/ Jakarta, incl. photgr.

Henri Theodoor Bonefaas most likely attended the Kweekschool voor de Zeevaart in Amst. (a program of the course for the year 1922 is incl. in the archive). He received his father's official permission to work for Koopvaardy in 1926. He worked on the S.S. Waaldijk of the Holland-Amerika Lijn in 1928-29. Incl. in the archive are 2 manuscript booklets w. all kinds of technical information on the ship as well as many printed items from the Holland-Amerika Lijn. The archive also contains 2 cards, "Brevet voor de Textielhandel" for "Textielwarenkennis" and "Manufacturen", dated 1947. The archive shows that Henri Bonefaas successfully started a textile firm in Batavia (Jakarta).
