De Appel Amsterdam, flyers and posters

Twenty two documents from the legendary centre for performance, installations and video art founded by Wies Smals (1975 to 1983). Comprises mostly A4 exhibition flyers from the mid to late 1970s, with highlights such as Ulrike Rosenbach 'Reflections on the Birth of Venus' (1976), Alison Knowles 'Objects in Hand' (1976), Marina Abramovic & Ulay (1979).

Special posters include: (1) Vito Acconci, The Peoplemobile; project for townsquares in Holland, 1979. 46 x 62 cm, folded 3 times. Pronounced age wear, small holes and tape repair (2 cm) on top margin. (2) Dutch Treat, an exhibition curated by De Appel/Wies Smals at Franklin Furnace, New York 1980. 56 x 40.5 cm, folded 3 times as issued, fine copy. (3) Also contains De Appel Bulletin 3 1985, an envelope containing artists' cards by John Baldessari, Barbara Kruger, Ulay/Abramovic et al. (total 22)
