Yoko Ono, Yoko at Indica: Unfinished Paintings and Objects by Yoko Ono

London, Indica Gallery, 1966. Original covers featuring b/w photos of the artist performing the event 'Hide Mouth'. Stapled softcover, 28 x 14.5 cm, 24 pp. with 8 photo plates by Iain Macmillan on perforated leaves with adhesive backing to be torn out and pasted to their corresponding place in the catalogue (6 contained in this copy). Edited by Ono on occasion of her first exhibition. The booklet is ingeniously designed into a separate upper and lower section. The upper section is meant to tip in the reproductions of the exhibited objects. The lower section presents catalogue texts and event scores by Yoko Ono. This is the original publication, holding 18 of the 24 images to be tipped in. Due to water vapour these pages were stuck together and were professionally separated by a paper restorer. For this reason the images are no longer gum-backed. The pages have been unhinged and are laid loosely into the publication.

The 18 images present in this copy comprise: Draw Circle Painting / Add Color Painting + Kitchen Piece / Ceiling Painting / Mend Painting / Draw Circle Object / YOU + ME / Apple / Pointedness / Forget It / Water Piece / Parts of Light House / Balance Piece / Cleaning Piece / Chess Set (Play It By Trust) / Mend Painting / Temporary Cabinett / Object in Three Parts / Eternal Time / Ceiling Painting. The catalogue has slight water damage on lower pages, else in fine shape with traces of use. Extremely rare item. *The exhibition marks Ono's first encounter with John Lennon. During the installation of the show he mistakenly ate an apple that had been one of the exhibits (titled 04 Apple 1966 in the catalogue).
