Booth, William (1829-1912, founder of the Salvation Army). Two albums
presented to Booth. (1) Presented to General Booth by the Brynmawr A.D. Council Aug. 12th 1907. Calligraphic title incorporating a drawing of buildings, 5 calligraphic text lvs and 7 mounted albumen photographic views, all within watercol. borders w. captions, orig. chagrin, gilt inside dentelles, 4to. Some foxing/ browning, lower joint splitting and covers a few rubbed spots. (2) Newark Sunday School Union. Presented to General Booth by the Sunday School Union on the occasion of his visit to Newark; in recognition of his valuable work on behalf of the child life of this country. July 30th 1909. Album w. mounted calligraphic dedication and list of representatives of the Union, followed by 6 mounted albumen photographs showing views of Newark-on-Trent, orig. silk covers, obl. 4to. Lower outer corner of one board broken of but preserved, covers stained.
