Germany, first half 18th cent., front cover w. central oval gilt supralibros of Eugen Schmidt, abbot of the monastery of Waldassen (1724-1744), back cover w. central oval gilt medallion depicting an author in his library, both of these central stamps within double rolled borders, ribbed spine w. gilt vellum letterp., 2 brass clasps, blue edges, 4to. W. owner's entry "Monasterii Waldassensis" in pen on title-p. and on upper pastedown, and w. stamp on first free endpaper and library ticket on foot of spine of the library of Hageveld in Heemstede. Wormhole in upper margin of final (index) quire, sl. affecting the text, some more wormholes in lower endpapers. Very fine, well preserved armorial binding. On: Laselve, Z. Annus apostolicus (...).
