Germany, early 17th cent., front cover w. central gilt supralibros of abbot Johann Dietmar von Aldersbach, back cover w. central oval stamp, both covers w. rolled borders incl. a border incorporating the personifications of Caritas (dated 1586), Spes and Fides, folio. Wormholes at the beginning (incl. front cover), occas. other wormholes (also on back cover), scattered library stamps and "Duplum Bibliotheca Regia Monacens." in manuscript on first free endpaper. Lacks clasps and catches, one cord of spine exposed, library ticket at top of spine. Despite the defects, an attractive armorial binding. On: Cyrillus of Alexandria and J. Pontanus. In XII Prophetas.
