1930s. Approx. 240 silver gelatine prints, most tipped-in to partially filled album, var. sizes, a few pages w. handwritten captions/ titles. Most relating to the English Royal Air Force and their exercises in Sudan, Egypt, Palestine and Iraq. Incl. a.o.: (1) Sm. collection of loose photos of native Sudanese peoples. (2) Several photos of air force regiments, one w. the names of the officers handwritten below. (3) Two press photographs of military airplanes from the Air Ministry, their stamp verso. (4) Several pages dedicated to views of Khartoum, 1931-1934. Many photos of military planes and bases (some aerial photos), but also some photos of native Sudanese peoples as well as topographical pictures. (5) Several photos of the '2nd Nukheila Expedition 1934' (Sudan). (6) Several pages of views of Egypt, incl. photos taken along the Nile, the Mediterranean and in Ismailia (also incl. some aerial photos).
