Marcel Duchamp. Exhibition posters, 1973

Two posters for an exhibition organized by the Philadelphia Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art New York in 1973. (1) Marcel Duchamp: July 28,1887 - October 2,1968. Newspaper style offset poster, 61 x 38 cm, printed b/w, both sides with numerous reprinted articles about Duchamp. Produced in 1973 by The Division of Education of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Designed by William P. Miller Jr. Folded several times, with 4 pronounced folds. Fragile newsprint with usual age toning, abrasion on top fold (approx. 1 cm) and some small tears along the folds. Generally a fine copy.

(2) Marcel Duchamp, Philadelphia Museum of Art September 22 - November 11, 1973. Offset poster printed red and white on black, 61 x 46 cm. Designed by Kathleen Haven, who made an identical version for the MOMA exhibition. Folded twice for mailing, moderate handling wear, one tear along the horizontal fold. Both posters rare.
