Crebillon, (C.P. Jolyot) de. L'ecumoire, histoire Japonoise

This licentious tale about Tanzaï and Néaderné, first published in "Pékin" (Paris) in 1734, is considered by some to be a satire against cardinal De Rohan, duchess Du Maine and the bull Unigenitus Dei Filius of 1713 (with far-reaching consequenses, especially directed against Jansenism). Because of this work, the author was imprisoned in Vincennes. Translated into English, the word "ecumoire" means skimmer. -and 1 other (Paris, 1739).
