Softcover with glassine wrapper, 19.5 x 14.7 cm, 36 pp. First edition of 300 numbered copies, this is one of 250 copies on tinted Normandy paper, stamped No. 204. Includes a portrait of the artist on the last sheet. Glue on interior of spine has dried, yet its pages are still firmly bound. Fine copy.

Philippe Soupault (1897-1990) was a French writer, poet and political activist. He was a Dadaist and one of the founding figures of the Surrealist movement. With André Breton and Louis Aragon he launched the Surrealist periodical Littérature (1919-1924).
