Rome, the artist, ca. 1850. A series of 48 (of 60) engr. views, each approx. 8 x 12 cm. Splendidly handcol. in gouache and w. handwritten captions in sen. Mounted in cont. blindst. mor. album, a.e.g., 22 x 32 cm. Album leaves show light wear, some chafing to leather, spine sunned. The original leaves are bordered in mauve, covering the orig. engr. captions, and annotated in pen. Additionally, the album contains a series of 12 mounted finely handcol. and gommé lithographed views of other Italian cities (same size and style, trimmed close to or on the image border, also w. captions in pen) and 3 larger lithographs.
