Puppet theatre

Probably Belgium, ca. 1900, 100 x 59 x 28 cm in opened state. Wooden frame w. board sides and front covered w. dec. fabric. The front w. large chromolithogr. plate dep. theatrical figures w. musical instruments (45.5 x 55 cm). The viewing rectangle is backed w. rollable printed cl. screen dep. closed curtains and surrounded by draw curtains attached to the front, printed cloth background view of a city hanging at the back of the fold. panels. Stained and faded, the cloth worn/ w. tears along extremities, board sides loosening. Considering the fragility of the used materials in acceptable condition. A very nice example of a hand puppet theatre.
