Evacuatiebureau "Noord-Holland" was an organization set up by the German occupiers to oversee the evacuation of citizens living along the Atlantic coast of Noord-Holland, in order clear the area for the construction of the Atlantikwall (Atlantic Wall). The aim of this project was to create an extensive line of defence against the Allied forces. Nearly 300.000 people were forcibly evicted and thousands of houses were destroyed.
