Announcement for the show 'Patterns' held from 26 October to 7 November 1964 at the now legendary space Naiqua Gallery. Van Golden spent the years of 1963-64 living and working in Tokyo, culminating in the show. The exhibited paintings were based upon Japanese wrapping paper and fabric pattern design, which became key to Van Golden's oeuvre. The exhibition folder itself has gained great stature. It is listed in major catalogues and has been displayed prominently in retrospectives, including the Stedelijk Museum Schiedam 2025, and Misako & Rosen Gallery in Tokyo 2014.
